The
City of Santa Maria will be accepting applications for the position of
Firefighter beginning Monday, September 19th at 8:00 a.m. through
Friday, October 7th at 12:00 p.m.
To be considered for the position, applicants must complete a City of
Santa Maria Employment Application, meet the minimum qualifications, and submit
required documentation.
The
testing process has changed: The applicant is required to complete and receive a
passing score on the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC) written test,
sponsored by the California Firefighters Joint Apprenticeship Committee before
the application period closes on October 7th at noon. More information regarding the test may be

testing dates for FCTC are:
Friday, September 9th - FCTC Sacramento, 2560 River Plaza Drive, Sacramento, CA 95833
Saturday, September
10th - Carpenters Training Center, 3250 E. Shelby St, Ontario, CA 91764
Wednesday,
September 28th - FCTC Livermore, 526 Commerce Way, Livermore, CA 94551
The candidate is responsible for all fees
required to take the test. For information regarding Financial Assistance go to

All applications received during the
application period listed above will be considered and those applicants best
meeting the needs of the department will be invited to an oral board interview.
